Feedback form is now closed.

The past year has marked the release of two programs that depict Jews on screen to wide audiences via streaming: the Netflix miniseries, Unorthodox (2020) and the third season of the Israeli drama television series, Shtisel (2021). Both shows bring Haredi/Ultra Orthodox Jews into the mainstream and offer portrayals of members of Hasidic enclaves to tell compelling stories. Using clips and analysis of the themes of each show combined with media responses, this session will investigate how Jews are being represented in these two shows.
