We all know Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle as purveyors of great detective novels – think Miss Marple, Sherlock Holmes... This session will examine detective novels where the detective is Jewish, as is the author. Can you imagine the Rabbi – orthodox or not – in the role of crime solver? What sort of detectives have been created by Jewish authors? One detective we'll examine is not only Jewish but the wife of Sherlock Holmes – who would have thought it?
