The "A" word controversy

In separate reports, three major human rights NGOs, two of them Israeli, recently concluded that the "A" word (Apartheid) is applicable to certain Israeli policies – Yesh Din and Human Rights Watch in respect of the West Bank and East Jerusalem and B’Tselem in some respects also of Israel within the Green Line. That has provoked angry responses in many quarters, including accusations of antisemitism. Is there any cause for concern here on the part of those who wish Israel well, or are the critics of these NGOs correct in condemning and rejecting their reports?
